Will laser hair removal work anywhere on the body?
Laser hair removal works virtually anywhere on the body.

What are the most common areas?
For women, upper lip, chin, underarms, eyebrows, bikini, and legs.

For men, back and shoulders, front of the neck, which is a common place for ingrown hairs, and glabella-the space between the eyebrows. Other common areas: ears, nose, chest and abdomen. Most men prefer thinning the hair but others like complete removal.

What is the most popular procedure?
For women, the bikini area is one of our most popular treatment areas.

A popular option for men—thin the hair on the arms, underarms or full legs.

Do you offer Brazilian laser hair removal?
We offer any level of bikini treatment from a basic limited bikini to complete pubic hair removal, also known as the Brazilian. No need to be embarrassed, as nurses, we are comfortable offering the procedure.

What if I am not sure if I want a full Brazilian?
If you are looking for an "almost Brazilian" we call this the limited bikini. With this style all pubic hair is removed except a small patch near the top and front. Because the limited bikini is so popular, during a consultation, we would be delighted to share which styles appeal to most women.

What about maintenance or re-growth?
We will talk to you about how to achieve the least amount of maintenance.

Is laser hair removal really permanent?
Yes-the procedure is permanent in most people after 6-8 treatments. After several treatments, hair grows back finer and thinner. Depending on your hair removal goals, eventually, most clients experience significant hair reduction.

Some clients want to reduce the number of hairs or minimize coarseness—it’s easily accomplished within 2-4 treatments. Other clients prefer significant clearance of hair-typically accomplished within 6-8 treatments.

Does laser hair removal hurt?
Considered minimal pain, it’s like getting snapped by a rubber band. Because we adjust the amount of energy delivered to the skin, treatments are effective yet comfortable. Our lasers deliver a cool stream of air that blows over the skin immediately before the laser fires.

How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?
Most clients require about 6-8 treatments for significant hair removal. Clients with less hair to remove or who simply want finer hair or less re-growth require fewer treatments.
Why does it take more than one treatment?
Because hair grows in three cycles-early, active and late.
The laser only disables hairs in the active stage of growth. While laser treatments target active hairs, it also weakens hairs in the early and late stages of growth. When those hairs grow back, they often appear lighter in color and finer in texture.
Sometimes results are noticed after just one treatment, but we recommend additional treatments to achieve significant hair removal.

What other permanent hair removal methods are available?
Electrology is a proven permanent hair removal method that works with any hair color. It is a hair-by-hair treatment that requires inserting a needle into the hair follicle. The needle emits both heat and electricity to disable the hair. Electrology requires regular treatments, about every 3 weeks, for several years. With laser treatment, we can treat a much larger area (up to the size of a quarter) in a much shorter time period (6-8 months) without the discomfort of a needle.

Why would someone opt for electrology if laser is quicker and easier?
With laser technology, dark hair draws laser energy to the root—generally the darkest and thickest part of the hair. When dark hair intermixes with white or gray hair, the laser only "sees" the dark hair. Sometimes with thin (or velous) hair, laser permanency is weaker since thinner hair draws less laser energy. Whereas with electrology, it destroys hair follicles regardless of hair color, making it the more permanent method.

Why do you recommend laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is fast, convenient, and has minimal side effects. It can save up you about 10 minutes a day by skipping the full leg shave. Think of the money you have spent on razors, shaving creams, bleaching creams and eyebrow waxes. Say good-bye to expensive, time-consuming hair elimination methods.
